Hi there fellow parrot people.

My name is Bettina, I am 29 and from Northampton - I have rehabilitated, reared and kept various and numerous birds over my lifetime and shared my bird experiences with my beautiful lutino cockatiel since I was 6 years old. He died last year. I have never had a parrot.

I am finally accomplishing a life long dream and will be fetching my green-winged baby this weekend!!! Like any expectant parent I have prepared and read as many books as possible but nothing prepares you for the real thing quite like, well the real thing!

I am really hoping to make friends within the parrot community and hope to share experiences from the very beginning with you.

Any tips and advice from seasoned parrot mamas and papas for my new life changing journey will be very VERY much appreciated! This expectant mum is thrilled but a teensy bit scared at the same time!

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully chat soon!!

hello bettina, welcome to the forum. i expect by now you have your new feathered friend and he/she has settled in with you. does he/she have a name yet?

would love to see pics of your new baby when you get the time Smile

you'll both learn together and soon become used to each other and have a routine Smile
