| i just talk to jasper all the time, tell him where i'm going and what i'm doing. just general everyday stuff. starting with his name would be a good idea, but i'd include it in a sentence sometimes, the same with other words. not just one word here and there or i think they become bored hearing the same words over and over so he's not really been trained to do anything,he just picked it all up in his stride and he's still learning new words and sounds. i'm sure einstein will learn too but don't be too disheartened if he doesnt or it takes him a while to learn | |

| We, like Jules, haven't tried to teach our two talkers (African Grey and GW Macaw) to talk. They tend just to pick things up that they hear. Our Grey is a fabulous talker with an incredible vocabulary. He can identify each of our three dogs and each of our three cats by their bark/meow which always amazes me! As soon as he hears a dog bark in the house or a cat meow he shouts their name out like he's calling them. Loving the pics of Einstein! He looks so relaxed and happy Best Wishes Nicola x | |

| We have had him a few months, the story behind Wally is: He is nearly eight years old and had a fabulous home locally, His owner spoilt him silly, however he went downstairs one morning about three and a half years ago and when his wife Julie went down about twenty minutes later her husband had just had a massive heart attack and was dead on the kitchen floor. Wally of course never had the chance to say goodbye so stopped talking, whistling and eventually started to pull out feathers. Julie tried everything with him and in fact spent the next three years trying to get him to understand the situation. As usual with this sort of situation it was all to no avail. After a long discussion I decided that we would take on Wally but the good news is that Julie has told me that if I can't cope or don't want him at any time she would rather have him back than just get passed on and on. So that is always a sign of a good owner. So there you have it, now he is here and has settled in well. https://s647.photobucket.com/albums/uu197/scaffman/?action=view¤t=IMG_0298.mp4 | |
