Hi Jules
They are a South African Company, We stock a range of their products.
When they brought it into the country we were involved in trying it.

We had a couple of the amazons that ate it but most wouldn't I spent around 2 months doing tries with different birds and as I say only a couple would eat it.

The problem is with birds, some will eat it and others won't

Sometimes my way of thinking is that if it's not broken don't try and fix it. We still stick with Harrison's. most of the birds eat it and they all seem healthy enough on it.

Hi Jules

Yes we stock the animalzone products.
to be honest they are probably very good and if the bird eats the food that fine, as I say I have a couple that will eat it .

It is always better that we try and give the birds a change so that if we cannot get a particular food then the bird well eat something else.

Animalzone are spending a lot of money on advertising and to be honest a lot of products on the market are bought because we are brainwashed with the adverts, If you take dog food for example, a lot of west highland terrier owners feed their dog on Cesar. The product is advertised on tv and also has a picture of a westie on the tim. The main thing with any food is to read the ingredients.

When we did the trial on the animalzone food the sales rep tey had then pushed the fact that it was cheaper than harrison's and other pelleted foods. The problem is that you have to feed more so although on face value it's cheaper, in reality it isn't any cheaper. That doesn't mean that the food is no good it is just the way that it is marketed. but by all accounts it ticks a lot of the boxes

thanks for your advice bob. i know where you're coming from, they are cheaper, although for me harrisons is cheaper as i can get it from the local vets (not my vet but still) but i'm finding i don't have to feed more of the animal zone or any other. jasper does eat different brands but he won't eat many of them Smile

Hi Jules
We supply some of the zoo's and their vets use a product called nutri-bird P15

I have tried two or three of ours on it and they aren't too keen. but strangely enough the senegals love it.

talk about doing your head in. they drive you crazy

It is so much fun, hard work but wouldn't change it for the world.

Most of the time, the macaws play together and cage hop all the cages and play with all the other birds toys, The big fellows (macaws) as I call them play with the dogs and the other week shut the pup in one of the cages with major our military macaw.
Monty the eclectus plays on the floor with her and even the two baby military macaws that we brought back from the shop opened their carrier and were walking around the floor with Ebony

I always say that you never buy a parrot, you buy a 4 year old child that never grows up.
How many times have we thought that
