Hi to all Laughing

I'm Dee and I live in Worthing, Sussex with my husband Vince and my 2 'tiels; Sushi (27yrs) and his son Baldie (23yrs). Saffy; Sushi's mate died last year from liver failure, she was 28yrs old!

2 weeks ago my darling LSC 'too Maxi died suddenly with no apparent reason, except his neck was broken so we can assume this was a tragic accident. My husband and I miss him dreadfully and we're still shedding buckets of tears for our baby.
Maxi came to me (before I met my husband) 24yrs ago as a year old youngster as big ball of cuddle fluff and feather; from day 1, Maxi was the most tame and loving bird you could wish to have and remained that way to the end.
I was fortunate enough to have an avian vet (Alan Jones MRCVS - Turners Hill, Sussex) quite close and always available for sensible advice and due to his expertise and our care, Maxi remained in 100% full prestine feather and exhibited no psycological problems.
We intend to purchase a new baby 'too (Citron or LSC) during the summer, so if anyone know of a good reputable breeder in the south please let me know, or we're willing to travel anywhere for the right bird.

I'd love to 'chat parrot' to anyone willing to listen and swap ideas, stories etc..

Hope to hear from you soon
Dee Very Happy

Hello Dee and Family

Welcome to our small friendly forum. I am Bob and live with Diane and 39 parrots and 3 dogs, well forty parrots now just collected a hahns macaw tonight which we may look at rehoming but we need to get her a little more used to hands.
You can certainly talk parrots on here as we are all very passionate, like you, with our feathered friend.
You are lucky having Alan Jones as your vet, he is very good, we are also lucky to have Brian Stockdale as our vet and advisor.

We look forward to some photos and more information on your flock.
We have two baby lesser sulphers and also have a customer who has a greater sulpher that lost his mate, a moluccan and has turned really nasty. we are trying to work on her at the minute.

Bob

Hi Dee

Lovely to hear about your lovely feathered friends. Sorry for the loss you have suffered with your two babies Sad I dread the day that we lose any of our feathered babies - you just assume that they are going to outlive you.

I would recommend getting a baby 'too from Bob and Diane. Their birds are very well handled and well socialised which makes for a better balanced bird.

Best Wishes
Nicola x

I am so sorry to hear about your losses :'( I've been in tears for days thinking I'd have to rehome my boy, I can't imagine how I'd be if I came home and he had passed away! *super hugs* I always tell Elvis he has to outlive me, or else! My nephews are looking forward to having him one day, after all! Wink

I can say though that Bob and Diane have some LOVELY baby LSCs! If only Elvis (MSC) liked other birds I'd have talked my husband into one by now Laughing I think my husband is very happy that Elvis is anti-parrot, means I'll never end up with a second one lol! We were at Midland when one of them was in, we still talk about how cute and lovable the little puff ball was! For my husband to call anything cute is a big recommendation lol!

Hi
Im From Thurmaston Leicester, Own a 3 year old African Grey called Dolly, Shes a little madam with plenty to say for her self. She loves to be out of the cage and never argues about going back in. She is so messy she likes to throw her food about, its worse than having babies again forever cleaning up after her, but i would not changer her for anything.

Just been recommeded this site for boarding my African while on holiday, anybody used this service?
