PostSubject: spiders   12th January 2012, 7:32 am

do spiders count as pets? Laughing

i have two that have taken up residence in my bathroom, they have been there for months. that long in fact, that when i hoover up i feel i have to leave them just a little bit of web in the corner so as not to disturb them Laughing

does anyone know what they would eat apart from flies? and maybe smaller spiders? as i really don't know what they're living on. would they eat those silver fish creatures that i see in my bathroom & kitchen sometimes? Surprised think i might do a bit of research Smile

that was quite interesting bob. so spiders can survive several months without food or water Shocked mine are the small type unless they're still young?

well their water supply must be the condensation from my shower and i can only assume they're finding small flies from somewhere, which i dont mind. i'd rather have spiders any day Very Happy

I fear spiders SOOO SOOO much, but there is one living in Elvis' pepper plants upstairs who is eating all the flies and things coming in the window, also aphids from what it looks like in the webs, he can stay LOL. As long as I don't SEE him, he's fine. I had a pet zebra spider in my strawberries outside, but he vanished on day Sad Well, I stopped going near the strawberries too LOL he was cute for a spider, but I learned he was a jumping one and it put me off lol

I'd love to know what the silverfish eat so I can kill the little sods once and for all LOL!
